13. Am I entitled to an occupational license to drive to and from work, RCW 46.20.391?

A person is eligible for an occupational license (except during the first thirty days of a suspension under 46.61.5052 only if:

(a) Within one year immediately preceding the date of the offense, the applicant has not committed any offense relating to motor vehicles for which suspension or revocation of a driver's license is mandatory; and

(b) Within seven (7) years immediately preceding the date of the offense that gave rise to the present conviction, the applicant has not committed any of the following offenses: driving while intoxicated or physical control; vehicular homicide or vehicular assault; and

(c) The applicant is engaged in an occupation or trade that makes it essential that he or she operate a motor vehicle; and

(d) The applicant files satisfactory proof of financial responsibility.
